WCOOP 2018 begins today
Back in August, top online poker room PokerStars announced the new schedule for the upcoming World Championship of Online Poker. Since the announcement, players have been getting ready to take part in more than 60 events with $70 million in guaranteed prize money offered up in the WCOOP tournaments. The WCOOP begins today and will run until the 17th, offering players prime tournament gaming over a more than two-week period.
Something for Everyone:
The 2018 WCOOP schedule has something for everyone. PokerStars offers low, medium and high buy-ins, with entry prices ranging from $2.20 to $25,000. Players should expect amateurs to compete as well as poker pros.
Today is opening day and PokerStars is starting the WCOOP with a bang. There will be 15 events taking place today starting at 13:00 ET. The very first event on the schedule is the WCOOP-2-L $11 NLHE $100k GTD. This is the low buy-in event. At the same time, players can compete in the Medium buy-in event which is the $109 NLHE (Sunday Kickoff SE) with $300K GTD. High rollers have the $1,050 NLHE $500k GTD event.
The schedule continues with additional NLHE events on Sunday, including an 8-Max Progressive KO as well as 6-Max events. As the schedule progresses, players will find even more value within the series.
According to PokerStars…
On September 16th, the 2018 WCOOP will feature two Main Events. Players can choose to pay the $55 buy-in to compete in a $1 million GTD event or pay the much higher $5,200 to compete in the $10 million GTD, with a minimum of $1 million going to the first place finisher!
Win Entries with Spin & Go:
PokerStars has also provided an option for their players to be able to take part in WCOOP events with a much lower cost. Special Spin & Go tournaments are currently on offer, with a buy-in of just $5 to $25. Players can win entries into WCOOP events, tickets as well as cash.
